- The Council's Distinguished Guests during the month include : Daw Ni Ni Myint & U Myo Aung from the Universities Historical Research Centre, Myanmar; Dr Margot Gatzlaff, Recipient of the 1998 Gisela Bonn Award, from Germany; Five artisans from Japan to attend the Workshop organised by the Delhi Blue Pottery Trust; Mr John Nagenda, Author & Presidential media adviser from Uganda; Mr Kanesh Jusupov, translator of the "Mahabharata" from Kyrghyzstan; Prof Osvaldo Svanascini, art critic from Argentina; Ms Bozena Rubezynska from the Asian and Pacific Museum in Warsaw, Poland; Prof G L Bondarevsksy, Institute of Political Research, Moscow, Russia; Prof Kabir Chowdhury, Author & National Professor from Bangladesh
- The ICCR continues to facilitate the travel abroad of Indian scholars, artists and artistans. In March, these include Dr (Ms) Shashi Prabha Kumar, Dept of Philosophy, Delhi University to participate in the International Congress of Vedanta in Trinidad & Tobago; Shri Jamuluddin & Shri Mukhtar Ahmed toparticiapte in the Kite Festival in Dhaka, Bangladesh; Shri G R Iranna, artist to Croatia.
- Under its Memorandum of Understanding with the Harry Truman Institute, Tel Aviv, the ICCR is arranging and participating in the second Indo-Israel colloquium in Israel. This year's topic is "India & Israel: Society, Culture and World View". The Indian participants in the Colloquium are : Dr (Ms) Varsha Das, Shri K Natwar Singh,
Prof S S Bhattacharjee, Shri S K Singh, Shri H K Dua and Shri N N Jha.
