The Council's bilateral cultural interactions during October include : inaugurations of two prestigious exhibitions in India : in New Delhi of the Indo-Austrian exhibition of Contemporary Art ( "The Search Within" at the National Gallery of Modern Art) and in Calcutta of the "Treasures of Indian Art: Germany's Tribute" (at the NGMA); installation of a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Catania, Italy; installation of a statue of Rabindranath Tagore in Paris; exchanges of visits by distinguished artists & scholars; cultural presentations in India by visiting artistes from Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and France and by empanelled artistes of the Council in nineteen countries around the globe.
The Horizon platform for young artistes features a Hindustani vocal music recital, a sitar recital and a Bharatanatyam performance during the month at the ICCR's Tagore Hall.

The Council's distinguished guests in India include Mr Mac Maharaj, Minister of Transport from South Africa, Mr Vladimir Tolstoy (Leo Tolstoy's grandson) from Russia and Sr. Horacio Anibal Rodriguez, Artist from Argentina.
The ICCR is facilitating the travel of Indian scholars and artists to several countries for lecture tours and interaction with their counterparts during conferences, exhibitions and international festivals. Destinations include :
