• The focus this month reverted to events abroad, with artistes and troupes visiting Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Tanzania, Syria, Israel, Morocco, Egypt, France, Mexico, El Salvador, Panama, Surinam, Barbados and Guyana. Travelling Exhibitions sponsored by the Council were inaugurated in Bratislava (Slovakia) and Houston (U.S.A.).
  
  
• Artistes from Japan, Spain, Croatia and Hungary visited India for performances in the Capital and other cities.
  
  
• The ICCR had the honour to host distinguished artistes, scholars and statesmen from several countries including Canada, Germany, Israel, Kyrghyzstan, Laos, the Philippines, Russia, Turkey, the U.K. and Vietnam.
  
  
• In its Retrospectives series, the Council presented a Bharatanatyam recital by Alarmel Valli on 21st March at Tagore Hall.
  
  
• The Horizon series continued to provide a platform, on Fridays at Tagore Hall, to young artistes empanelled with the Council. Presentations included those of Kuchipudi dance, carnatic violin music and folk songs from Madhya Pradesh.
  
  
• The month of March --- one of election results and several festivals -- was, as per convention, also utilised by the Council to "take stock" and to prepare for its activities in the next fiscal year.
